Shaira Diaz will no longer play an assassin on ‘Lolong’
Shaira Diaz will no longer play an assassin on GMA’s upcoming action-adventure series “Lolong.”
Last October, the Kapuso actress expressed excitement over playing such an “action-packed” role.
In an online interview with the press on Wednesday, Shaira said there had been major changes in the story, including her character.
She said she now played an ordinary but brave person who’s “one of the boys.”
“She protects the environment and animals. She doesn’t want anything bad to happen to nature. She’s angry at people who think only of themselves while stepping on others,” she said in both English and Filipino.
When she learned about the change, Shaira said she was “heartbroken” at first because it had been her dream to do action scenes.
“I felt bad about it and I cried,” said the actress.
“I was really sad because I hoped that I would be able to do my dream role. But there’s a reason. I will just look at God’s purpose on why it happened,” she said, adding that she hoped to be able to play her dream role some other time.
Shaira said she was happy and excited for the premiere of the series. She is set to star alongside Ruru Madrid and Dakila.
Fans expressed their excitement for the series with the teaser released in May. Its premiere date, however, is yet to be announced. – RC, GMA News
