What was Christian Bautista's childhood dream? Hint: It's not music
You'll never guess what Christian Bautista wanted to be when he was little.
After years of making us fall in love with his soothing voice and good looks, the singer revealed that he actually wanted to become a baker when he was a kid.
"I wanted to be a baker, and bake pandesal. That's what I wanted to be when I was young," Christian told GMA News Online in a Zoom interview.
"[But] as the years went by, as I discovered this passion for singing and performing, I didn't realize how it could be this expansive," he added.
Now known as "Asia's Romantic Balladeer," Christian is popular for his notable talent at swoon-worthy ballads.
The international singing sensation and a multi-platinum award winning singer is also an established songwriter, actor, host, producer, endorser, model, and theater performer.
Christian has wowed crowds across the globe after more than hundred local and international concerts, and has showcased his talent as an actor on TV dramas broadcasted in the Philippines and abroad.
Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued to inspire young artists as a judge and mentor on GMA's "The Clash," and treated viewers to special virtual performances on the weekend variety show "All Out Sundays."
"There are always different avenues to go e, and GMA provides that, especially now," Christian said.
"So it's fun to remember your childhood dreams, [but] you know what's also fun? To live your current dreams, to live them out and share these dreams with other people. And that's what I'm able to do now," he added.
Christian, who is co-managed by Stages Inc., officially renewed his contract with GMA Network on Thursday, June 24.
