Pokwang gets emotional after warm welcome from GMA Network

Newest Kapuso Pokwang could not help but turn emotional after receiving a warm welcome from GMA Network.

The award-winning actress, comedian, and television host officially signed a contract with GMA Artist Center on Friday.

In Lhar Santiago's report for "24 Oras," Pokwang burst into tears while thanking her new bosses.

"Thank you po sa tiwala po n'yo, sa pagbukas po ninyo ng pintuan sa akin," she said. "Mapapagpatuloy ko po kung ano 'yung gusto kong gawin bilang artista."

("Thank you for trusting me and opening your doors for me. I can continue to do the things I want to try as an actress.")

Pokwang said it's an honor for her to join the Kapuso family.

She was also touched to watch the video messages from her new colleagues, such as AiAi delas Alas, Camille Prats, Rayver Cruz, and Alden Richards.

"Hindi ko alam na ganito pala ako kamahal ng mga tao na nakatrabaho ko na mga artista," she said. "Salamat po, nag-uumapaw lang ako sa pasasalamat."

("I had no idea I was this loved by the actors I've worked with before. Thank you, I am simply overflowing with gratitude.")

According to Felipe Yalong, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GMA Network, the Kapuso network is now the home of the best female comedians in the country.

"In addition to Pokwang, we have AiAi delas Alas and Eugene Domingo," he said. "Who knows, we can have the three paired in one possible sitcom."

Meanwhile, Pokwang is set to appear in "Pepito Manaloto" and "Wish Ko Lang."

She is also excited to work with various Kapuso artists, such as Carla Abellana and Barbie Forteza.
