Elijah Alejo to play high school student raped by own family members on ‘Wish Ko Lang’

Elijah Alejo is set to play one of her hardest roles yet as she portrays a high school student raped by her own family members in “Wish Ko Lang.”

In Lhar Santiago’s “24 Oras” report, Wednesday, the teen actress said she couldn’t help but feel the burden of the story.

“If I were to experience that, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it. I might go crazy because the two people who are meant to protect her did her harm,” she said in Filipino.

Gelli de Belen, meanwhile, will be playing Elijah’s mother in the episode. Like the latter, the actress said she couldn’t believe that the incident happened in real life.

“It’s actually two rapes and one attempted rape. [They’re] all close to her, family members, so when you think about it, like what they say, ‘truth is stranger than fiction,’” she said.

The episode will air on GMA on Saturday afternoon.
