Alice Dixson shares behind-the-scenes of 'Legal Wives'

Looks like everyone on the set of GMA’s upcoming series “Legal Wives” had an amazing time during their lock-in taping.

Alice Dixson (Amirah Macadatu) gave an exclusive behind-the-scenes on a vlog episode uploaded on YouTube Sunday, with the cast and crew introducing themselves and their characters.

Dennis Trillo said his character, Ismael Macadatu, is a “loving Maranao and Muslim.”

“His family is very important to him. I’m going to be the husband of Ms. Alice Dixson here in this show,” he said in a mix of English and Filipino.

Andrea Torres (Diane San Luis), meanwhile, said that she will be the “number one enemy of Amirah.”

The show’s language coach and consultant Egype Balindong also shared her own share of contributions to everyone in the set, especially the actors.

“I teach them the language of Maranao. Aside from being their language coach, they also consult me regarding the ways of Maranao,” she said. “I help them style their Hijab.”

According to Alice, being on "Legal Wives" taught her more about the hijab and the correct way to wear it.

"In its traditional form, [the hijab] is worn by women to maintain modesty and privacy. Generally Muslim women’s garments conceal the hair and body from the ankles to the neck. Kaya what I’m wearing here (tube cap) is incomplete. I must still cover my neck with a scarf or full inner bonnet," Alice wrote on Instagram.

Alice also showed footage of activities they  did during their days off, including biking, eating, crossing a bridge and riding a boat.

In a separate Instagram post, meanwhile, Alice and production designer Bill Gustillo revealed that most of the items on set are “mocked-up” because the real ones are too heavy.

Although most are made of rubber, everything still appeared to be “authentic and realistic.” Included in the things shown were the ampas, gadur and likos.

“Legal Wives,” dubbed the first-ever Muslim teleserye on Philippine TV, also stars Bianca Umali, Cherie Gil, Al Tantay, Shayne Sava, Abdul Raman, and more.

It will premiere on GMA Telebabad on June 21. — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA News
