Kris Aquino receives first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Kris Aquino has received her first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19.

The actress shared the update on Tuesday with a photo of herself sitting at a dining table with her son Bimby and lawyer Gideon Peña.

“[Gideon] and I have both gotten our first doses of our vaccine,” she wrote.

“My doctors chose AstraZeneca as my safest option. But we are still masked and we’re all taking the necessary precautions,” she said.

They were also joined by Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste, who she thanked for the visit and the food. Kris also encouraged him to get his dose of the vaccine.

“I believe you should get your vaccine soonest because you’re not just protecting yourself, [but] for the safety of your constituents, friends, family, and loved ones. Agree?”

To which, the vice governor, who tested positive for the disease in August last year, replied: “Agree, Madame. Thanks!”

In 2018, Kris was diagnosed with chronic spontaneous urticaria, an autoimmune disease, and later revealed that she was ailing from a “form of lupus.”

Kris is qualified under persons with comorbidity or the A3 category of the government’s vaccine prioritization.

Other celebrities who have gotten their COVID-19 vaccines include Charlene Gonzalez, Aga Muhlach, and Alice Dixson. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
