Gab Valenciano receives dose of COVID-19 vaccine
Gab Valenciano has received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In an Instagram post on Friday, he shared photos of the vaccination process at the Philippine Red Cross National headquarters and a video of himself getting inoculated.
"As the mental health ambassador and volunteer for Red Cross Youth, we always take the proper steps. My category is A3 as I have hypoglycemia, bronchial asthma (past) and neurological disorders," Gab wrote. "We talked about the vaccination over a month ago. I finally got my schedule and did it without hesitation."
He added, "I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to help out via mental health, blood and convalescent plasma donation and now immunization awareness. Thank you Red Cross for all you do."
Gab shared the different steps on scheduling for a vaccine and the proper preparation before taking the dose, and advised residents to research and consult with their doctors first.
"I see my family everyday and their safety is my priority. I now feel more at peace knowing that this will add protection not just for me, but for all my loved ones as well," he said.
"This is a step closer to beating this virus. If we can band together, it will give us a fighting chance to win," he added. "The vaccine is NOT a cure. It simply prevents, fights and boosts your immune system. Continue to stay vigilant by following all COVID-19 protocols."
In April, Gab revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 in November 2020. —Kaela Malig/JCB, GMA News
