Mario Maurer, Nonkul Chanon and Gulf Kanawut are this Pinoy telco’s newest endorsers
Thai actors Mario Maurer, Nonkul Chanon and Gulf Kanawut have just been announced as brand ambassadors for local telecommunications service provider TNT.
The Thai superstars are headlining TNT’s new campaign “Kilig Saya” alongside actress Sue Ramirez and singer Sarah Geronimo.
This means Filipinos will get to follow more of Maurer, Chanon and Kanawut on their smartphones, TNT announced.
The choice for the three Thai actors was made in light of a so-called “Thai Invasion,” with more and more Filipino youth becoming big fans of Thai series, films and culture.
“Filipinos and Thais have always had mutual appreciation for each other’s wealth of entertainment content, but we’ve seen this grow even bigger recently as more Filipinos enjoy easy access to streaming platforms and social media through TNT’s value-packed promos,” SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart Jane J. Basas said in a release.
Perhaps the most popular Thai actor of all, Mario Maurer gained a massive fan base in the Philippines and other Asian countries after starring in beloved Thai films like “Love of Siam” (2007) and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” (2010).
Nonkul Chanon is best known for his role in the film “Bad Genius,” which became the highest-grossing Thai film of 2017; while Gulf Kanawut is a Thai actor and model who starred in the “TharnType The Series,” which was adapted from a popular Thai web novel. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
