Miss Eco International 2021 first runner-up Kelley Day arrives home in the Philippines

Miss Eco International 2021 first runner-up Kelley Day has arrived back home in the Philippines, after her successful stint in the pageant earlier this month.

A report on Unang Hirit on Tuesday confirmed that the Filipina beauty queen has officially landed in the country.

On Monday, Kelley posted a video clip of herself announcing to her followers that she is in self-isolation, following the COVID-19 protocols in the Philippines.

“Hey, everyone. Good evening. It's 10:30 pa lang, and I want to give you all an update that I am in Manila. I flew in this afternoon, arrived, and checked in to my quarantine hotel, where I'll be staying for the next seven days," Kelley said in the video.

“I just want to give you guys this update that I'm finally back home in Manila and really happy to be back," she added.

In the caption of the video post, Kelley wrote, “I've received so many well-wishes, and I want you all to know I arrived in Manila this afternoon."

“Thank you, everyone, for all the lovely messages and prayers. I can't express enough gratitude to my closest friends and family who have been just a call (or calls) away -- thank you," she added.

Kelley was hailed the first runner-up at the Miss Eco International 2021 pageant held earlier this month in Egypt.

Gizzelle Uys of South Africa took home the crown while other candidates including Venezuela, United States, and Costa Rica are runners-up after Kelley.

Kelley wasn't able to immediately fly back home after the pageant following news that several candidates tested positive for COVID-19 during the competition.

The Miss World Philippines Organization previously issued a statement on April 6 saying they have coordinated with the Miss Eco International organization with Kelley as their "topmost priority."

According to a report on PEP.ph last April 17, Kelley tested negative for COVID-19 in Egypt. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
