Britney Spears breaks silence on 'Framing Britney' docu, says she cried for two weeks
Britney Spears has spoken up about the way her story was told in the documentary "Framing Britney Spears."
In an Instagram post, the pop star said her life has always been "very speculated, watched, and judged."
Sharing a video of herself dancing to Aerosmith’s "Crazy," she said she had to dance every night "for her sanity" and "to feel wild and human and alive."
"I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people," she wrote. "It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I've always been so judged... insulted... and embarrassed by the media... and I still am till this day.”
"As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people," she added.
The singer went on to say that she didn't watch the documentary, but from what she saw of it, she was "embarrassed by the light they put me in."
"I cried for two weeks and well.... I still cry sometimes !!!! I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy... love... and happiness!" Britney said.
"Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I'm not here to be perfect ... perfect is boring ... I'm here to pass on kindness," she added.
"Framing Britney Spears," a feature-length documentary from The New York Times, was released last month.
It zoomed into Spears's life as a relentlessly pursued media target, touching on several publicized issues including the legal agreement that barred the singer from managing her own life and finances.
The documentary added fuel to the #FreeBritney movement, wherein fans use social media to bring awareness to the pop icon’s situation. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
