Kakai Bautista receives warning from Mario Maurer's team to stop spreading 'false claims' about relations with Thai actor

Kakai Bautista has received a letter from the team of Thai actor Mario Maurer demanding her to stop spreading "false and untrue" claims about her closeness with Mario.

According to a PEP.ph report on Tuesday, Kakai received a demand letter through her agency Artist Gallery Management.

The letter, which came from Mario's agency Kwaonhar Nine Nine Co., Ltd., demanded she "cease, desist and refrain from further use and reference of the name of Mario Maurer."

In the letter, Mario's team said that it has reached their attention that Kakai has been using Mario's name. They've also denied everything that Kakai has said regarding her closeness with the Thai actor.

"Upon consultation with our client, we would like to confirm that all statements and claims made by Catherine ‘Kakai' Bautista regarding her claims of proximity to Mario Maurer are hereby DENIED as false and untrue,” the letter read.

It added, "By so using the name of our talent, Catherine ‘Kakai’ Bautista is improperly exploiting the name, image and reputation of Mario Maurer and his manager, and may be violating existing laws of the Republic of the Philippines and the Kingdom of Thailand.”

Mario's agency asked Kakai to answer the letter and follow the demands. The agency warned that should Kakai and her team fail to confirm in writing that they will comply, "Kwaonhar and its staff will have no other alternative but to pursue (without any further notice to you) formal claims against your talent to protect his rights to the broadest extent.

On Instagram last September, Kakai posted a clip of her interview with the Thai actor who she claimed was "kind" and "authentic."

In the caption she wrote, "He was good to me until the end. I've seen so much of him that other people have never seen (siguro). I am forever grateful. Ang sarap ng feeling na kapag naalala kita, puro masaya lang nagpa-flash sa utak ko (I've seen so much of him that other people have maybe never seen. I am forever grateful. It feels good that every time I remember you, it's just happy memories flashing in my head)."

"Salamat sa pagdaan sa buhay ko (Thank you for passing through my life)," she added.

In 2019, Kakai revealed that she almost quit show business after she was allegedly forbidden to communicate with Mario and people started saying that she was just using the Thai actor.

The two previously worked on the 2012 film "Suddenly It's Magic."
