Cast of 'First Yaya' tease exciting surprises ahead of tonight's first episode

In just a few hours, Kapuso viewers will finally get to watch GMA's new romantic comedy series "First Yaya."

Before the big premiere on Monday at 8 p.m. on GMA Telebabad, lead stars Sanya Lopez, Gabby Concepcion, and Pancho Magno virtually stopped by "Unang Hirit" to talk about some exciting surprises that fans should not miss.

Gabby, who plays fictional Philippine president Glenn Acosta on the show, is excited for fans to see his onscreen pairing with Sanya Lopez.

According to the seasoned actor, his co-star was somehow very similar to her sweet and loving character, Yaya Melody, in real life.

"Hindi siya (Sanya) pa-sosyal at nag-bo-bond kami kaagad dahil 'yun ang masarap makasama, 'yung normal na tao lang na walang kaere-ere, at 'yun ang pinortray niya as Melody dito sa First Yaya," Gabby said.

("She's not 'pa-sosyal' so we bonded together at once because that's the kind of person who is good to work with—a normal person who doesn't put up airs and that's what she portrayed as Yaya Melody here in 'First Yaya.'")

Sanya was also very excited for fans to see what she and the team behind "First Yaya" have been working on.

She gave a special shoutout to Marian Rivera, who was originally set to play Yaya Melody, but had to bow out to focus on taking care of her kids amid the pandemic.

"Nag-thank you na lang ako sa kanya personally sa mga interviews ko, and ngayon, Ate Yan, gusto kong sabihin sa'yo na itong 'First Yaya,' dine-dedicate ko sa'yo," Sanya said.

("I thanked her personally in my interviews and now, Ate Yan, I want to tell you that I am dedicating 'First Yaya' to you.")

Meanwhile, Pancho, who had to spend some time away from his wife Max Collins and their newborn baby boy Skye to finish filming "First Yaya," was also certain that fans are going to like what they see.

"Mamaya na po 'First Yaya' sa GMA Telebabad! Marami po kaming kasama dito na  I'm sure mag-e-enjoy po kayo so abangan n'yo po 'yan, mamaya na po!" the actor said.

("First Yaya is coming tonight at GMA Telebabad! We have lots of stuff which I'm sure you will enjoy so stay tuned!")

"First Yaya," which premieres tonight on GMA Telebabad, is set to air weekdays at 8 p.m.

The new romantic comedy series also features Cassy Legaspi, JD Domagoso, Cai Cortez, Kakai Bautista, Thia Tomalla. —Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
