'Boy With Luv' makes BTS producer Pdogg highest-paid in 2020 royalties
"Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey has been named by the Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) as the song with the highest number of streams for 2020.
On YouTube alone, it has surpassed 1 billion views, joining the billionaires club of "DNA" (also by BTS), "Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du" (Blackpink), "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman" (PSY).
For his work on "Boy With Luv" — and many of BTS' record-breaking hits such as "Life Goes On," "Black Swan," and "On" — composer and lyricist Kang Hyo-won a.k.a. Pdogg has been reported to win the Daesang (Grand Prize) in both Songwriting and Composing from KOMCA.
The Daesang is awarded to the songwriter and composer with the highest royalties earned in the previous year.
Pdogg co-produced a total of 11 of 20 songs on the BTS album "Map of The Soul: 7" and two of five songs on "BE."
The KOMCA Awards Ceremony will be streamed on the KOMCA YouTube channel on February 18 at 4pm Manila time.
