Gabby Eigenmann is Commander Robinson, Neil Ryan Sese is Dr. Hook on 'Voltes V: Legacy'

"Voltes V: Legacy" has revealed two actors who will help the Voltes V team in the fight against the Boazanians.

According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras," Gabby Eigenmann will play Commander Robinson, the father of Voltes V pilot Jamie Robinson and the co-designer of the Voltes V and leader of the Earth Defense Force.

Gabby said he had hoped to be part of the Voltes V cast in any role, as he was a fan of the animated series growing up.

"Pinapanood ko 'yan nung bata ako, I used to collect cards, 'yung mga playing cards, bumibili talaga ako sa tindahan niyan para lang ma-collect pati 'yung mga stickers," he said.

Neil Ryan Sese, meanwhile, will portray Dr. Hook, one of the scientists working for the Earth Defense Force. He is the force behind Voltes V's "Spin Fly Technique."

The character actor said he also watched "Voltes V" with his cousins when he was a child, so he was overjoyed to be part of the live action adaptation.

"Nalaman-laman ko pa na nung unang ginawa 'to, 'yung cartoons dito sa Pilipinas nung 1978, si Mr. Joonee Gamboa pala 'yung nag-voice over doon sa Dr. Hook so, s'yempre, isa pa sa iniidolo ko 'yon so dagdag pressure pa," he said.

Gabby and Neil will join Miguel Tanfelix (Steve Armstrong), Ysabel Ortega (Jamie Robinson), Radson Flores (Mark Gordon), Matt Lozano (Big Bert) and Raphael Landicho (Little Jon) in protecting Earth from evil forces.

They will battle Martin Del Rosario and Liezel Lopez, who will play main villains Prince Zardoz and Princess Zandra. Other antagonists include Epy Quizon and Carlo Gonzalez, who will play Zuhl and Draco.

Directed by Mark Reyes, "Voltes V: Legacy" will soon air on GMA Network.
