Gina Pareño to play love scam victim on ‘Wish Ko Lang’

Gina Pareño will play a senior citizen who falls in love with her supposed foreigner chat mate who turns out to be a scammer in a new episode of “Wish Ko Lang.”

On Lhar Santiago’s “24 Oras” report Wednesday, the veteran actress described her character, Agnes, who agreed to meet with her chat mate at the airport.

When Agnes got there, her chat mate asked for money to pay for fees on his way out of the terminal. However, Agnes waited in vain as her chat mate didn’t show up.  

The “Wish Ko Lang” episode was based on the story of a love scam victim that was aired on “24 Oras” in November.

Gina shared her excitement on her television comeback since the pandemic began. “Noong isinwab test ako, sabi ko ‘naku, panalo ako, siguradong makakapunta ako,’” she said. “Nandito lang ako sa kuwarto ko, kasama ko ’yung tatlo kong baby dogs. Hindi ako lumalabas, mahal.”

The actress also shared that during the lockdown, she learned how to use TikTok with the help of her nephew.

“Naadik na ’ko sa TikTok. Ang sarap pala mag-TikTok! Parang tumakbo ’yung dugo ko!” she said, laughing. 

The “Wish Ko Lang” episode, which will air this Saturday, will also feature Aira Bermudez as Agnes’ friend, Brent Valdez as the scammer, Mon Confiado, and Sue Prado. – RC, GMA News
