Kapuso stars Julie Anne San Jose, Golden Cañedo and more win big at 33rd Aliw Awards
Several Kapuso artists and personalities won big at the 33rd Aliw Awards the 33rd Aliw Awards held Tuesday, December 15.
According to a report by Nelson Canlas on Wednesday, Julie Anne San Jose took home not only the award for Best Entertainer of the Year, but also Best Rhythm and Blues Jazz Artist, as well.
Meanwhile, "The Clash" grand winner Golden Cañedo won Best New Female Artist, while Kapuso comedian and TV host Donita Nose was named "Best Stand-Up Comedian."
Kapuso winners include Louie Ignacio who was named Best Concert Stage Director (Hall of Fame); Laurice Guillen, named the Lifetime Achievement Awardee; and her daughter, Ana Feleo, who won the award for Best Classical Female Musical Performer.
Derrick Monasterio also won as Best Host while Ken Chan and Rita Daniela bagged the Best Featured Performance in the Concert Category.
Unfortunately, Derrick, Ken, and Rita were unable to go to the awarding ceremony due to scheduling conflicts.
Julie Anne San Jose, who is currently a Clash Master on GMA-7's singing competition "The Clash" with Rayver Cruz, dropped a new single "Try Love Again" earlier this year.
The Filipino singer, songwriter, and TV host had written the song during quarantine, hoping to inspire hope amid the COVID-19.
Julie also recorded her own version of "Rocket to the Moon," the theme of Netflix's animated movie "Over The Moon" which premiered in October.
