'Finding Agnes' director Marla Ancheta reveals drama film was supposed to be a romcom

"Finding Agnes" director Marla Ancheta revealed that the drama film was initially supposed to be a romantic comedy movie.

During the film's roundtable interview on Saturday, Marla said that before the actors came on board, there was already a script made.

"There was already a script. Iba pa actually 'yung theme niya, medyo pa romcom pa siya nung unang script," Marla said.

From there, Marla shared that they decided to change the characters, especially Jelson's.

"Since Jelson is known for light comedy siya, sabi ko gawin nating seryoso," the director said.

"Finding Agnes" follows the journey of a very pragmatic businessman played by Jelson who goes on an emotional journey to Morocco to find out more about his mom, who left him when he was little.

There, he meets Sue's character, his mom's adopted daughter, and together, they find the answers to their lifelong questions.

The film is set to premiere on Netflix on Nov. 30. — LA, GMA News
