Slapshock bassist reacts to Jamir Garcia's partner: 'Expect an answer from us but for now, we mourn'

After Slapshock vocalist Jamir Garcia was declared dead upon arrival on Thursday morning, his partner and bandmates have begun speaking up.

Garcia's partner Jaya Garcia took to a Facebook live on Friday and attempted to reveal the truth surrounding the musician's death, which earned a reaction from Slapshock bassist Lee Nadela the following day.

On Facebook Saturday, Nadela spoke up on the death of his bandmate, saying that despite their differences he values their long-term friendship.

"I am deeply saddened over the tragedy that happened to my friend and bandmate Jamir Garcia. We may have had differences, pero mas mahaba at mas marami kaming mabuting pinagsamahan for 23 years," he wrote.

Lee continued saying "Mahal ko siya na parang kapatid at nalungkot ako na ito ang pinili niyang  Mahal ko siya na parang kapatid at nalungkot ako na ito ang pinili niyang paraan."

"God knows wala sa isip ko na sa ganito hahantong ang lahat," he added.

Nadela then responded to Jaya statement made on Facebook live video Friday, and said, "please don’t accuse me and Jerry Basco of wrongdoing, when we were just speaking out the truth and the injustice done to us," he wrote.

"Huwag mo sanang gawing galit ang lungkot na nararamdaman nating lahat, at ipasa ang galit sa amin o maghanap ng sisisihin," Lee pleaded adding nobody really knew the reason behind Jamir's actions. 

"Jaya, ang mga binitiwan mong salita against us ay walang basehan," the bassist said. "Either tinatago mo ang katotohanan or wala kang alam at all sa nangyari sa band namin."

He vowed to answer what he called "baseless accusations and refute it with concrete evidence," which Lee said should be presented in court. He invited Jaya to do the same. "Kung sinasabi mong may evidence ka rin na hawak, sabay nating ilabas," he added.

Nadela said he will answer what Jaya has been accusing them of but for now "with all due respect to Jamir and family, we will mourn his passing. Rest in Peace, pare, Jamir."

In a Facebook live video Friday, Jaya said she wanted to reveal the truth behind Jamir's actions, but admitted that it was difficult to do so.

"Patawad mga kaibigan. Gusto ko sana ikwento ang buong pangyayari, akala ko kaya ko! Pero mahirap pala," she wrote.

"Gusto ko lang sana talaga ipagtanggol si Jamir, at linawin ang lahat. Pero mas naramdaman kong mas magiging masaya siya kung aalalahanin na lang natin ang masasayang nagawa niya," she added.

Without specifying the issue was nor who were involved, Jaya pointed to money problems as a factor. She said Jamir would have wanted her to keep silent, but she said this is the only way she could serve him justice.

"Hindi niya deserve ang nangyari sa kanya. Sinira siya ng mga taong inggit, pero hangng sa huling hininga, kayo pa din ang prinotektahan niya," she wrote.

At the latter part of her caption, Jaya wrote,"Lalabas din ang katotohanan. Hindi habangbuhay maghahari-harian ang kasamaan niyo."

In the video, Jaya didn't name names but it appeared that the person she was referring to was close to Jamir.

"Alam niyo kung sino kayo mahal na mahal kayo ni Jamir, pero anong ginawa niyo sa kanya?" She asked.

The Slapshock frontman passed away on Thursday. He was 42 years old.

The news was confirmed by Quezon City Police District Talipapa Police chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Christine Tabdi to GMA News Online.
