11 Celebrities who are taking action to raise funds for Typhoon Ulysses victims


Typhoon Ulysses really wrecked havoc upon us. Apart from severe flooding in Marikina on Thursday, Cagayan experienced its worst flooding since 1975.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 12 people are missing, 21 individuals were injured, and thousands have been displaced. The death toll from the onslaught of the typhoon has risen to 67 as of Sunday. 

People have been mobilizing to send help where it is needed, and celebrities are doing their part.

Here are 11 celebrities who are getting involved in relief efforts, all to help those afflicted by the typhoon.

1. Heart Evangelista

Heart Evangelista announced on Sunday that she will be auctioning her favorite designer pieces and proceeds will be donated to those who were affected by the typhoon. The auction will take place in her Instagram store @shopmaisonlovemarie.

 

 

2. Rabiya Mateo

Newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is already making queenly moves as she launched a donation drive for victimrs of Typhoons Ulysses and Rolly.

"I can’t completely celebrate and be happy on my birthday today knowing the situation of some Filipinos in Cagayan. That’s why I wanna ask help from everybody with a generous," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

3. Megan Young

Megan Young is coursing her help through the Wager Guild, who had a Charity Stream on Saturday evening.

4. KC Concepcion

Meanwhile, KC Concepcion will be selling her ready-made, handcrafted Avec Moi Jewelry pieces designed by her to raise funds for immediate rescue and relief efforts in Cagayan.

The jewelry pieces will be available on Tuesday for buyers who are interested.

 

 

5. Dingdong Dantes

Through Yes Pinoy and Aktor PH, Dingdong Dantes has been raising funds for those affected in Cagayan Valley. They've been accepting essential items like blankets, towels, clothes, vitamin c, masks, medicine, canned goods, rice, coffee, toothbrush, toothpaste, napkin, and soap, among others.

Relief goods can be brought to Taumbayan, 40T Gener cor K1st, Bgy. Sacred Heart, Kamuning, Quezon City.

6. Kris Bernal

Kris Bernal is using her Instagram account to share several donation drives by organizations that she and her fiance Perry Choi are currently supporting.

The Kapuso actress is also encouraging her followers to do the same to help the victims who were affected by the onslaught of the typhoon.

"We are one as Filipinos. Making sure that we help each other hand in hand. This time, I decided to use this platform as an avenue to encourage donations to the ones in need. 7. Carla Abellana

Carla Abellana, who is an animal welfare advocate, is supporting groups that are helping raise funds for dogs and pounds that are also victims of the typhoon.

The Kapuso actress is currently supporting the Animal Kingdom Foundation to help a pound for aspins in San Mateo, Rizal.

 

 

8. Scarlet Snow Belo

Scarlet Snow Belo has packed relief goods which she will be sending to those who were affected by the Typhoon in Marikina City.

"Hang in there, Marikina! Help is on it’s way. I packed these goodies myself so it’s packed with my love ???? Please stay strong, ok. Even if it’s hard," the caption of Scarlet's post on Instagram read.

 

 

9. Pia Wurtzbach

Pia Wurtzbach is supporting WWF Philippines to help fishing communities in Albay and Camarines Sur.

"They have been recently battered by Super Typhoon Rolly, destroying the boats that they use for livelihood and leaving hundreds without shelter," her post read.

The Miss Universe 2015 queen is encouraging her followers to donate to the fishing communities to provide them with food, water, building materials, solar lamps and hygiene kits through this link.

 

 

10. WInwyn Marquez

As a navy reservist, Winwyn Marquez is leading the University of Makati Center of Alumni Affairs' donation drive to help families who are victims of the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.
 

 

11. Alodia Gosiengfiao

The popular gamer and cosplayer managed to raise  76,489 stars equivalent to $764.89 or P36,860)during a stream of Saturday night. And as though that wasn't enough, Alodia doubled the amount to P73,720 before sending it to Unicef "so we can help more people and families affected by the Typhoon Ulysses," Alodia said on social media.
