As breadwinner, Shaira Diaz says she became stronger emotionally, mentally amid pandemic

As her family’s breadwinner, Shaira Diaz said she had become stronger both emotionally and mentally amid the pandemic.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Shaira shared what she had learned from the pandemic that she would incorporate in her character Ria, an assassin in the upcoming action-adventure series “Lolong.”

“Siguro yung pagiging malakas emotionally, mentally so feeling ko yoon bukod sa dapat maging physically strong din talaga, maging believable na assassin talaga, na well-trained assassin si Ria,” she told GMA News Online.

She shared some of the challenges she went through amid the pandemic as her family’s breadwinner and how these made her stronger.

“Gusto ko maging strong siya emotionally and mentally, so yun sa tingin ko kasi ngayong pandemic talagang na-test din talaga ako dito, may mga times talaga na namomroblema ako, hindi ako makatulog kasi paubos na yung savings ko, so parang yung ganoon kasi breadwinner ako eh ng family namin,” she said.

“So doon pa lang nasubukan talaga ako ngayong pandemic na ’to, kaya yeah sa tingin ko ’yun yung kaya kong ma-incorporate kay Ria dito sa ‘Lolong,’” she added.

Just last week, Shaira broke into tears out of happiness after learning that she was cast as the leading lady for “Lolong.”
