Sanya Lopez on working with Gabby Concepcion for 'First Yaya': 'Bonus 'yung guwapo talaga siya'

Sanya Lopez admitted that she could not help but be wowed by the opportunity to work with Gabby Concepcion in "First Yaya."

As the new leading lady of the upcoming Kapuso series, Sanya will star opposite the veteran actor and 80s matinee idol, who will play her love interest in the show.

In an exclusive interview with GMA News Online, the 24-year-old actress said she has to prepare for the role to meet the challenge without embarrassing herself in front of the charming leading man.

"Sobrang excited ako na kinakabahan, kailangan kong ihanda 'yung sarili ko sa mga eksena na nandun si Mr. Gabby Concepcion kasi alam naman nating magaling talaga siyang aktor," she said. "S'yempre bonus 'yung guwapo talaga siya."

Sanya said she is yet to formally meet Gabby in previous events and has only watched him on television.

"First Yaya" director LA Madridejos plans to use this dynamic in their portrayal of the roles of the president of the Philippines and Yaya Melody, the nanny of his children.

"Makakatulong siya sa kuwento kasi hindi naman talaga magkakilala si Yaya saka si President, so gusto ko gamitin 'yung hindi nila pagkakakilala para maka-create ng mga eksena na pag napanood mo, mangingiti ka," he said.

Asked about building a chemistry between Sanya and Gabby, the director said he has no problem imagining that they will work well together. 

"'Yun 'yung magic," he said. "Naniniwala talaga ako na magki-click silang dalawa kasi parehas silang magaan katrabaho, parehas silang bubbly 'yung personality."

Sanya said she is looking forward to creating this "magic" on the screen with Gabby.

"Na-excite ako dun sa sinasabi ni Direk na parang lumabas lang na natural, kasi ikaw 'yan, kumbaga nung nakita mo siya ito ka," she said. —MGP, GMA News
