Shaira Diaz is Ruru Madrid’s leading lady in new adventure series ‘Lolong’

It’s official!

Shaira Diaz will be starring as Ruru Madrid’s leading lady in the new action-adventure series “Lolong.”

According to Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, Shaira was in tears when she found out that she got the role.

At first she thought she was just going through a screen test online.

“Nahirapan ako via Zoom na umarte pero sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa prod, sa Public Affairs for choosing me,” the actress said.

Meanwhile, Ruru couldn’t help but share his happiness as well for Shaira.

“Finally may nahanap na perfect para sa role and si Shaira ’yun,” Ruru said. “Hindi ko pa po nakatrabaho si Shaira pero lagi ko po siyang napapanood and nagagalingan talaga po ako sa kanya.”

“Lolong” is said to be GMA’s biggest action-adventure series yet.

“May building to building kami ... may underwater. May jungle fight kami, may air, nasa helicopter, may fight scene kami sa loob ng helicopter,” said director Rommel Fineza.

Both Ruru and Shaira expressed their excitement over the new project, and even said they wouldn’t be needing stunt doubles.

“Every time na bibinibigyan nila ako ng project, 100% po,” the actor said. “Minsan pag may fight scenes di na ako nagpapa-double.”

“Same kay Ruru,” Shaira said. “Siguro dito di rin ako magdo-double. Ganoon ako ka excited … gusto ko ako ’yung gumagawa lalo na pag action.” – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
