Julia Barretto files complaint vs. Jay Sonza over pregnancy rumor

Julia Barretto has filed a complaint against former broadcaster Jay Sonza over his claim that she is pregnant with Gerald Anderson's child.

The actress filed the complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday.

NBI Cybercrime Division chief Victor Lorenzo said they will look into whether Sonza's claims amounted to cyber libel or a violation of the Safe Spaces Act.

The Safe Spaces Act is a 2019 law defining and penalizing gender-based sexual harassment in streets, public spaces, online, workplaces, and educational or training institutions.

Sonza had reportedly claimed in a Facebook post that Barretto is pregnant with her child with actor Gerald Anderson.

On Monday, the actress posted on Instagram a photo of herself with an exposed flat stomach. She captioned the post: "FAKE NEWS :)"

The actress has previously been linked to Anderson following her breakup with actor Joshua Garcia. —JCB, GMA News
