Klea Pineda reveals family's sentimental connection to popular liver spread brand

Klea Pineda is just one of the many who took to social media to express their sentiments over the announcement of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last Wednesday, advising the public not to buy and consume the popular Reno liver spread and four other products that were unregistered.

On Instagram, the Kapuso celebrity revealed her family actually has a sentimental connection with the local liver spread.

Posting a series of photos and videos, Klea shared that her father was among the first salesmen of the liver spread brand in the country.

#RenoSince1958," she added.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last Wednesday advised the public not to buy and consume the popular Reno liver spread and four other products that it said were unregistered.

A day after the announcement, the FDA clarified that the product’s manufacturer failed to secure a certificate of registration.

“This year, FDA inspectors collected samples of Reno Brand Liver Spread for verification of their CPR. Upon extensive search of FDA databases, the mentioned liver spread failed to secure a CPR,” FDA's  classificatory statement said. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
