XOXO members thankful to get opportunity despite early exit from 'The Clash'

XOXO members couldn't help but express their happiness after their group was formed despite their individual early exit from "The Clash."

None of the ladies reached the Top 5 in the GMA singing competition, so they did not think they would be getting a big break any time soon.

Muriel Lomadilla, who hails from Cagayan de Oro, only lasted until the Top 32 and thought her career would end there.

Binuo kami as girl group," Muriel told GMA News Online in an interview on Tuesday.

Dani Ozaraga also shared that her parents were already pushing for her to go home to Cebu when she exited from "The Clash" but she insisted on staying.

"Sabi ko ayoko, dito ako, kailangan ko panindigan," she said. "I was very hopeful tas 'yun nagpapasalamat talaga kami kahit di kami winners naging solo artists kami for one year tas dumating 'XOXO' so sobrang blessed kami na kami 'yung pinili."

Mel Caluag also said that although none of them had an experience working as a group, they were able to make it work and grow closer.

XOXO is set to release its self-titled debut single on September 10. —MGP, GMA News
