Glydel Mercado dives back to filming with special ‘Wish Ko Lang’ episode

“Wish Ko Lang” is bringing you four inspiring stories about women’s winning moments this month, starting with “Nalunod” featuring Glydel Mercado.

The first of four “Winner September” stories airing this Satuday (Sept. 5) tells the story of a mother who does everything she can to save her children from a flash-flood that threatens their lives.

Glydel Mercado, who leads the episode’s stellar cast, was inspired by the incredible story.

“Hinangaan ko siya kasi sa sobrang lakas ng loob niya na kahit nalunod na siya, nagkahiwahiwalay sila ng asawa niya at mga anak niya, still, gumawa talaga siya ng paraan,” the actress said in a virtual press conference.

“Kahit ang lakas ng alon ng tubig, ginawa niya ang lahat para mahanap niya ’yung kanyang pamilya at magkasama-sama sila,” she added.

During the conference, Glydel revealed they were able to film some “challenging” scenes for the episode.

“Ngayon lang siguro ako nakaranas ng from first sequence up to the last sequence na basa ako, nasa tubigan talaga yung eksena naming ... So, basa, tuyo, tapos basa ulit. Tapos all throughout basa na ’yon hanggang sa na-pack up kami. So ’yon siguro yung pinaka-challenging na ginawa ko,” the actress shared.

“Tapos nagda-dialogue pa kayo habang nakalubog kayo sa tubig, kaya medyo ang dami kong nainom na tubig noon. Tapos umuulan pa dahil may bagyo. Kaya napaka-challenging talaga,” she continued.

“Ang hirap. Ang hirap magkakitaan ’pag pinaandar na nila yung rain effect. Ang hirap magkakitaan tapos makita kung nasaan yung mga characters na hinahanap mo. Ang hirap talaga,” she added.

Nevertheless, Glydel was very grateful to be part of the “Wish Ko Lang” September lineup.

In fact, “Nalunod” was the actress’ first project since COVID-19 ground several TV productions to a halt.

“Na-miss ko rin talaga ’yung pag-arte, and nakita ko naman na ’yung binigay nila sa aking project is maganda ’yung storya,” Glydel said.

“Kailangan lang talaga yung pagiingat, sundin ’yung mga protocols, kaya tinaggap ko talaga dahil namiss ko ’yung pagarte, ang tagal siguro mga six or seven months din siguro akong hindi lumabas sa telebisyon, kaya na-miss ko rin talaga,” she added.

Catch “Nalunod” starring Glydel Mercado on “Wish Ko Lang” this Saturday, Sept. 5, 4 p.m.
