Former 'Starstruck' survivor Diva Montelaba reveals COVID-19 battle
Former "Starstruck" survivor Diva Montelaba revealed she tested positive for COVID-19 and survived.
In a vlog she uploaded last September 1, the actress said she was already "very well" after several days of self-isolation.
Montelaba also shared the video on Instagram with a caption saying, "Yes, Im a COVID survivor."
"Finally took courage to relaunch my Youtube channel & for my first vlog, I decided to share my experience to spread awareness and hopefully inspire people," the actress wrote.
"I was very scared to do this but decided to post anyway cause I feel like this is more of an eye opener and a chance to help other people realize that this is serious & we should take all the safety measures that we can get," she added.
Montelaba had started filming her COVID-19 experience from the day she tested positive.
The actress said she decided to take the test even if she was not feeling any other symptoms other than a cold.
She immediately called her doctor about the cold, and the specialist encouraged her to isolate herself from her family.
As the days went by, the actress talked about how she had not been sleeping well and how bad she has been missing her loved ones.
But in spite of feeling "scared" and "alone," Montelaba repeatedly told herself that she was isolating herself to prevent others from getting the virus.
The actress also admitted being hesitant about sharing her COVID-19 experience, but in the end decided she decided it was better to spread awareness and help others fight the disease.
"I am honestly very scared to share this experience and takot ako sa judgement and everything, but I decided to post this right after that experience," Montelaba said.
"And now, I'm home and very well, and I decided to share it with you guys kasi mas naniniwala akong mas nakakatulong siya, mas maraming makakakita at makakapanuod and marami silang matutunan, hopefully, rather than ikahiya or ikatakot ang experience," she added.
In 2010, Diva joined the fifth season of “StarStruck” and finished as first runner-up.
