"We apologize for the confusion and dismay that this has caused to the parties involved," they said.
"Furthermore, we truly did not realize that it may cause trouble being that Ben&Ben is an OPM band from the Philippines. We hold high respect for K-pop culture and K-pop fandoms," they added.
The band's management will settle the matter immediately, they assured.
The nine-member band had initially named the fandom "Lights" after their song "Limasawa Street." Limasawa meant "a place of Light."
The group, known for their hit songs "Araw-araw" and "Pagtingin," also shared that it chose the name to remind everyone that we "can be bearers of hope in these dark times."
Just last month, Ben&Ben launched their own Youtube channel called BBTV and has since then covered K-pop songs such as BTS’ "Dynamite" and NCT Dream’s "Beautiful Time." —JCB, GMA News
