Garrett Bolden working on new song for frontliners
Singer and songwriter Garrett Bolden has revealed that he’s currently working on a new song dedicated to frontliners and everyone who has been affected by the pandemic.
Usually, he shared, he would write songs that were relatable and experienced mostly by everybody else.
“Working title niya is ‘Abo,’” Garrett told GMA News Online on Wednesday. “Hindi lang para sa frontliners pero pati sa nakakaranas ng COVID-19, ’yung di na name-meet mga kamag-anak nila, nag-meet sila pero di na sila nagka-chance na mag-meet ulit.”
Revealing a line to his new song, Garrett sang: “Minsan tadhana’y mapaglaro, pinilit tayong magtagpo.”
Garrett shared that he found inspiration for the song after he watched videos online of COVID-19 patients who never saw their loved ones again after contracting the virus.
“Everything’s okay then suddenly it’s not,” said Garrett. “What if mangyari ’yung ganung scenario na sa ngayon okay lahat, masaya lahat then at a glance biglang hindi mo na makikita pala ’yung mga tao na mahalaga sa ’yo.”
The song, however, has no release date yet as Garrett continues to work on his new project.
Just this August, Garrett, who was part of GMA’s singing talent search “The Clash” Season 1, took home the People’s Choice Award–Favorite New Male Artist at the Awit Awards. – RC, GMA News
