Paolo Contis, other Kapuso online show hosts share funny work-from-home BTS stories

Witty online shows introduced by GMA have been keeping us entertained after numerous productions grinded to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a recent virtual press conference, Paolo Contis and Vaness del Moral, hosts of “Just In,” expressed their gratitude to viewers for the great reception to their online talk show.

The same went for comedians Betong Sumaya and Pekto, who have been bringing laughs as hosts of online game show “Quiz Beh” and online dating game show “eDate Mo Si Idol,” respectively.

With everything that’s been going on, the Kapuso stars said they were grateful that these shows allowed them to continue bringing joy to viewers from the safety of their own homes.

And since many people have been seeing them on-cam, we asked the four hosts to share funny behind-the-scenes stories from their work from home set-ups.

Paolo Contis

As a host, actor, and father, Paolo Contis had a lot of hilarious work from home stories to tell.

But if he had to pick the funniest one, it would have to be the moment when his baby girl Summer went No. 2 while he was in an online meeting.

“Si LJ (Summer’s mom) nagka-klase, ako nagmi-meeting, bigla akong umalis. Nawala ako sa meeting, di ’na ako bumalik, kasi mahabang proseso ’yun eh, pagbalik ko natapos na ’yung meeting!” the actor shared.

Vaness del Moral

Apart from being a fun and fabulous host of “Just In,” Vaness del Moral is a busy housewife who loves to cook for her non-showbiz husband Matt Kier at home.

During the media conference, she admitted that she sometimes skipped a shower since she would only appear online.

“Minsan pagka-sobrang nagmamadali, bilang housewife din ako at ako rin nagpre-prepare ng breakfast, so tsaka ng dinner naming mag-asawa ... minsan, kapag sobrang nagmamadali, wala nang ligo ligo! Harap na agad. Magme-make up na lang ako. Wala namang nakakaamoy sakin eh!” Vaness joked.

Betong Sumaya

As the host of a weekly online show, Betong Sumaya always makes an effort to look “presentable” whenever he’s on camera—well, at least half of himself.

“Kasi mag-isa lang ako sa bahay... pero ito ’yung maganda dito,” the comedian explained.

“’Yung tipong dahil nakakalahati lang’yung nakikita ng mga tao, hindi nila nakikita ng suot ko sa baba ... figuratively speaking lang, dahil kung kalahati lang ’yung nakikita, di kailangan presentable yung kalahati po kasi kalahati lang yung nakikita,” he added.

Pekto

Right on cue after Betong’s confession, Pekto hilariously revealed he was actually wearing boxers during the Zoom call.

The “eDate Mo Si Idol” host also admitted that he sometimes had to borrow his child’s room for his online appearances.

“’Yung anak ko rin, itong kuwartong to dito siya madalas naglalaro ng Roblox. Eh maingay ’yun kasi nagku-kuwentuhan sila habang nag-ge-games sila ... so wala siya ngayon dito, ’andoon siya sa baba,” Pekto said.

Kapuso viewers are in for more laughs and surprises as “Just In,” “Quiz Beh!” and “eDate Mo Si Idol” are all set to run for another season.
