Paolo Contis was blown away by this actor’s performance on ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’

Like many of us, Paolo Contis was completely blown away by “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.”

The recently concluded South Korean drama tells a heartwarming love story between Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun), a community health worker at a psychiatric ward, and Ko Moon-young (Seo Ye-ji), a successful children’s book author.

However, it was the performance of Oh Jung-se, who played Gang-tae’s autistic older brother Sang-tae, that hit Paolo right in the feels.

In a recent interview over Zoom, the “Through Night and Day” star said that he was inspired by the Korean actor’s performance.

“Bigla kong naisip na goal kong maka-arte nang ganoon kagaling balang araw,” Paolo told GMA News Online.

In fact, Paolo and his partner LJ Reyes even had to rewatch the entire K-drama just to review Jung-se’s scenes.

“Diyos ko Lord! Doon pa lang ako nakakita ng nuknukan ng galing ng pag arte na hindi totoong (intellectually disabled),” Paolo said.

“Kami ni LJ, inulit namin para lang makahanap ng pintas doon sa tao, na may mali siyang ginawa. Wala!” he added.

So if there’s anyone out there deciding on what to watch next, Paolo said “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” should definitely be it.

“Napalitan na ’yung CLOY (‘Crash Landing on You’) sa puso ko, heto na ’yon. ’Yan ang ginawa sa ’kin ng quaratine: Naging open ako sa K-drama,” he said.

Paolo Contis recently broke a lot of hearts himself with his 2018 film “Through Night and Day,” which was the most-watched film in the Philippines on Netflix in July.
