Lovely Abella admits having contracted COVID-19, says she's recovered now
Lovely Abella admitted on Monday that she had tested positive with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and made clear that right now, she is free from the virus.
In a virtual press conference for Bubble Gang, entertainment journalist Gorgy Rula asked Lovely if she contracted the virus.
"Naging asymptomatic po ako, COVID po,” the actress confirmed.
"Medyo nag-ingat lang po kasi ako, kasi may paninda ako. May Lovely Cosmetics ako kaya hindi po namin nilabas," Lovely explaining, adding she did have plans to let the public know sooner or later.
While Lovely was isolated and quarantined, her fiance Benj Manalo took care of their business.
“I made sure po na nakatago ako na naka-isolate ako, and si Benj po lahat gumagawa nun, kaya tumigil din po ako sa online selling," Lovely said.
The Bubble Gang mainstay said she took a rapid test, which returned with two lines, meaning which means she had contracted the virus before.
According to Lovely, she and Benj took a swab test when their helper reported symptoms of COVID-19.
But it turned out, "ako po yung nag-positive. Sila po, negative."
It was tough, Lovely admitted. "Dumaan po ako sa punto na na-depress talaga ako. Wala akong ginawa kundi umiyak kasi natatakot ako para sa anak ko," she said.
"Dahil asymptomatic ako, hindi ko alam kung tama ba ang ginagawa ko, hindi ko alam kung paano ma-prevent, para hindi sila mahawaan."
Lovely did a two-week self-quarantine period, during which she and Benj slept in separate beds. All throughout, Lovely kept a mask on.
Lovely has finished her isolation, and she's well. “Kinausap ko po yung doktor kung kailangan ko bang mag-swab test ulit," she said. “Sabi niya, basta wala na ho akong symptoms."
Except for difficulty in breathing in the evenings, Lovely says she no longer has any COVID-19 symptoms. Her fiance Benj is also fine and has not exhibited any symptoms of infection.
Since then, the couple have taken extra precautions at home. "May mga UV light po kami. May mga air purifier, lahat...Kaya okay na po ako ngayon," she added.
Michael V. is another Bubble Gang mainstay who tested positive for COVID-19. Last week, Bitoy updated everybody that he's recovered from the illness.
