Kris Bernal admits she fell in love with Aljur Abrenica back then, but he had a GF

On her latest vlog episode, Kris Bernal did a Mukbang Q&A featuring foods from small online businesses.

In the video, Kris answered some grilling questions from her followers, including a query about whether or not she fell in love with her former love team Aljur Abrenica.

"Naging love team kami ni Aljur nung StarStruck pa lang, 17 years old ako nun," Kris recalled. She didn't fall for him at that time, "pero nung nag-work kami, aaminin ko na in love ko sa kanya," Kris admitted. "Pero may girlfriend siya." 

But Kris has always been clear about her values. She's not the type of person who will ruin a relationship to fulfill her desires, she said.

"Hindi naman ako yung type ng tao na porke't type kita, maninira ako. Never ako nagkaroon ng ganong issue," she said adamantly. "Kung mapapansin niyo, wala akong ganong issue pagdating sa mga lalaki." 

She added, "Kahit nai-in love ako sa 'yo, mataas ang respeto ko sa relationship mo."

Kris said it was almost natural to have feelings for Aljur, given how they're together every day, and shooting romantic scenes at that.

"Araw-araw mo ba naman kasi kasama. Tapos yung eksena niyo, lahat sweet-sweetan. When you're acting, may truth dun eh. You have to feel yung truth sa heart mo eh," she explained.

"Kailangan may maramdaman ka eh, ewan ko. Ganon ako, as an artista. Kailangan may hint of truth sa mga ginawa ako. So yes na-in love ako sa kanya," Kris admitted.

But that was a long time ago, back when she was just 17.

These days, both of them have each found love. Kris is engaged to be married to Perry Choi, while Aljur married Kylie Padilla and they now have two boys. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
