DJ Loonyo's ex-gf calls him 'pa-victim,' Loonyo holds himself accountable after 'Magkapakailanman' episode

"Magpakailanman" told the story of DJ Loonyo's life on Saturday to much aplomb. Jak Roberto even trended for giving an incredible performance as the popular internet personality.

But shortly after the episode aired, DJ Loonyo's ex took to Facebook and called him "pa-victim."

Aika Flores penned an open letter addressed to DJ Loonyo detailing their relationship, from courtship to their break up, to the unfortunate death of their son.

"Ako po yang nanay tung anak ni Rhemuel," she introduced herself. "Di ko na mapigilan di magsalita kasi sobra na. Sobrang pagmamalinis at kasinungalingan na ng taong to. Di ko naman na kailangan talaga pabanguhin pangalan ko as his ex girlfriend pero as the mother of his child, sobra na," she began.

Aika narrated how they met, how he courted her, and how she lied to her parents so she could join him in CDO, where she got pregnant with his child.

Back in Manila, the couple experienced a tumultuous time living with her parents. On her 9th month of pregnancy, they had a big fight that led to their breakup.

According to Aika, Loonyo only reached out twice to see their baby. The first and last time he saw their child was at the hospital, when the baby died in 2017.

"Dinalaw mo ba uli? Kelan pa yun, 2017 pa. 2020 na, nadalaw mo ba? After ng libing niya ni isang beses di mo na siya dinalaw. Kaya wag ka pa victim."

In his social media pages, Loonyo explained that he "conducted an interview to share intimate and publicly unknown details about his life for the coverage, with the request to omit or leave out some sensitive parts, particularly pertaining to his son."

"We as a management and team signed a contract allowing the program to enhance certain aspects of his life, because it is still, in fact, for a dramatic TV show retelling," he continued.

"With all due respect to the respectable program and its host, Ms. Mel Tiangco, the retelling was as respectfully told as was possible, and shed light on both the positive and negative aspects of his life," the statement read.

Loonyo then apologised "to the individuals or their families who were offended by the retelling of his life story."

Referencing the Magpakailanman episode, the statement said DJ Loonyo is "far from being a perfect person."

"Public perception these days is quite a big deal. So the mudslinging, the name-calling, the hurtful words that you find yourself typing in the comment section is understandable...but also quite unfortunate and unnecessary," it added.

According to Loonyo's statement, when they agreed to give Magpakailanman the rights to air and retell the story of his life, it was not done with malice or selfish intent, but ultimately to show the viewers that no matter how bad things may go in your life, there will always be a reason to keep fighting and striving, and hopefully, God will give you his grace in the end."
