Denise Barbacena graduates from college after 'ten long years and a pandemic'

Denise Barbacena took to Instagram to announce that she has finally graduated college after "ten long years and a pandemic."

The Bubble Gang babe shared the good news on Wednesday, posting a photo of her official graduation photo.

"I'd like to thank my family, dear friends, and loved ones who supported me and cheered for me every time things were a bit heavy to handle," she said.

"To my beloved professors and to my Artist Center family, thank you. You all made this journey possible. I am beyond blessed to be able to work and go to school at the same time," Denise added.

For 10 years, the Kapuso star juggled school and showbiz work.

In a vlog post, where she surprised her parents with the news, Denise shared why it took her ten long years.

Denise took up medical technology, a course that had subjects requiring students to be inside laboratories for three to four hours at a time. Each semester had seven subjects.

Her school schedule would often class with her career as an actress, so she could take the full load of every semester.

But since that didn't work with her schedule and career as an actress, she couldn't take full load subjects every semester.

"So yung isang semester kinukuha ko siya ng isang buong taon kaya tumagal ng sampung taon 'tong journey ko sa college."

Although there have been bumps along the road, Denise feels grateful that she will finally be able to close this chapter of her life.

"Bawat failure, bawat delay sa subject, bawat mababang score sa quizzes, sa exams, 'yung kaba na baka hindi ko 'to maipasa dahil wala akong masyadong aral dahil galing ako sa taping or may inaral akong kanta para ma-perform ko rin ng maayos. After all the delays, I wanna believe God has a plan in his own timing," she said.
