5 Kapuso celebs who showed entrepreneurial spirit while on quarantine
The COVID-19 lockdown has inspired many people to think of new ways to earn money while staying safe at home.
We’ve seen a lot of great ideas for online businesses, too — from selling fresh-baked goods to helping out-of-work service workers find jobs.
But did you know that some of your favorite celebrities are also doing some online “diskarte” to help their families and kababayans during the lockdown?
Here are just some Kapuso stars who were able to make use of the quarantine period and started something new.
1. AiAi delas Alas
The Kapuso Comedy Concert Queen has opened Martina's Pastries and has been busy making batches and batches of fresh pandesal.
In an interview on GMA-7’s “Unang Hirit,” AiAi shared that she has been getting some help from her family, especially son Sancho who is a trained chef.
2. Derrick Monasterio
With his friends, the Kapuso hunk launched “Quaran-Clean PH,” a home service company to help displaced barbers earn a living amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Derrick, the business idea came to his mind after talking to his neighbor who lost his job as barber amid the lockdown.
3. Rocco Nacino
The “Descdendants of the Sun” star launched a humble plant business with his girlfriend Melissa Gohing and called it “All About Plants.”
Rocco, however, never stopped helping promoting other businesses. “It’s an act of tulungan. I have friends who are releasing songs or may bagong businesses sila. Sabi ko, just send it to me, anyway. I can promote. May way talaga para makatulong sa kakbabayan natin. We should,” Rocco told “Unang Hirit.”
4. Chariz Solomon
The “Bubble Gang” star continued to bring happiness to others through her cooking.
Chariz started her very own food business “Fusion by Chariz Solomon” where customers can order delicious entrees. Her garlic buttered shrimp is a must-try!
5. Dingdong Dantes
And last but not least, the Kapuso Primetime King has bared plans to launch a delivery app that seeks to employ displaced workers from the entertainment industry as riders.
Dingdong hopes to bring the app to life very soon, especially as several of his workmates need jobs to support their families during the pandemic. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
