Chef Jose Sarasola shares how he and GF Maria Ozawa keep their LDR strong
Celebrity chef and actor Jose Sarasola has shared how he and his girlfriend, Japanese actress Maria Ozawa, are keeping their long-distance relationship (LDR) healthy amid the quarantine.
“I think it’s really hard. I think any couple that goes through LDR would find this time really challenging since we’re not together,” Jose told GMA News Online.
The chef said it’s been two months since Maria flew back to her home country and he admitted that it had been challenging.
“When she left I think the first month of April was really challenging but the good thing about technology now is it’s easy to keep in touch with your loved ones abroad,” he said.
Chef Jose said they kept their relationship healthy by keeping communication lines open and regularly updating each other through mobile apps.
“There’s so many apps that you can use to still talk to people so that’s what we’re really trying to do now. We’re trying to Viber, call every day. Update each other on what she’s doing there,” he said.
According to the Kapuso star, Maria has been busy working at a bar she owns in Shinjuku since Japan has not imposed a lockdown, unlike in the Philippines.
“It’s more on keeping the communication na you’re still talking pa rin to your loved one abroad,” he said.
“Kasi kapag nawala yung communication dun mag-start yung mga problema, yung mga doubt, yung mga pag-iisip,” he added.
“As long as I think we keep our communication yun yung medyo importante sa relationship for mga LDR,” he said.
Jose previously said he met Maria at a bar he owned when a friend brought her there. The two eventually became closer through phone calls and texts and started seriously seeing each other toward the end of 2016.
