Kapuso stars share money-saving tips amid quarantine

Celebrities may be earning more income than the average person, but even their jobs are not spared by the disruptions caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

In Cata Tibayan's report for "24 Oras," several Kapuso actresses shared how they have been saving money amid the community quarantine.

"Descendants of the Sun" star Jasmine Curtis-Smith said she has been cooking her own food to limit her food delivery orders.

"Kung meron man akong i-order, kumbaga pang-reward ko, I make sure 'yung i-o-order ko is good enough to last me and puwede ko iluto ulit in another way," she said.

Bianca Umali, meanwhile, buy ingredients in bulk or wholesale to reduce her family's trips to market or the grocery.

"Pag magluluto kami, madaming ulam and that would be good for how many days na. Mas tipid din 'yung kayo mismo yung gumagawa ng food n'yo," she said.

Bianca said she also refrains from buying luxury items and sticks to essentials to make sure she doesn't exceed her budget.

Kris Bernal suggested listing down purchases in a notebook to keep track of her expenditure.

She also divides her salary into different portions—investments, charity contributions, savings, and regular expenses.

"Nakabilang talaga 'yun, every peso counts sa akin," she said. —MGP, GMA News
