Shamcey Supsup marks birthday by donating 100,000 meals to frontliners, stranded citizens

Former beauty queen Shamcey Supsup celebrated her 34th birthday by thanking everyone who helped her donate over 100,000 meals to frontliners and stranded citizens.

Shamcey celebrated her birthday on May 16, coincidentally the same day the modified enhanced community quarantine was implemented in Metro Manila.

Although the Miss Universe Philippines National Director wanted to throw a party with her family and friends, she opted not to to keep everyone safe, she said in an Instagram post on Sunday.

May 16, 2020 Today marks the end of our 2 month long lockdown, though some areas are still under MECQ. In those 2 months, we have all experienced the effects of the virus not just to our health, but also to our livelihood. Still it has also shown us the best in humanity and how we could all be a blessing in this time of uncertainty. As much as I want to throw a party with my family and friends, I still think everyone's safety is the main priority. Instead let me share what we have been doing the past months. Thank you to our friends, sponsors, donors and partners, together with @byahengbusog we were able to give out 100,000 meals to date to our frontliners, skeletal workforce and stranded kababayans. This is still for me, the best birthday gift ever ????

The former beauty queen instead shared what she’s been up to for the past few months and what she’s doing with Byaheng Busog, her and her husband Lloyd Lee’s food business.

“Thank you to our friends, sponsors, donors and partners, together with @byahengbusog we were able to give out 100,000 meals to date to our frontliners, skeletal workforce and stranded kababayans,” she shared.

Being able to feed thousands of people is “the best birthday gift ever,” according to Shamcey. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
