Sarah Abad will remain 'good friends' with Jay Contreras: 'This has been heartbreaking and painful'

Sarah Abad finally spoke up on her alleged breakup with Jay Contreras through an Instagram story on Saturday.

"Please know that Jay and I will remain good friends and loving parents to our kids. It would be a new journey for both of us," read a portion of her statement.

The former child star said the experience has been "heartbreaking and painful, but always praying for strength and acceptance."

Sarah said she appreciates all the "love and overwhelming support people have sent and continue sending our way, most especially to all my friends who have tried to reach out."

She added, "Soon, I might have the courage to talk to all of you."

On Mother's Day Jay greeted her on Instagram with a sweet illustration. "Happy Mother's Day, We love you," the caption read.

Sarah replied saying, "It may not be the same between us, but I'll be forever grateful for giving me 2 wonderful angels. Thank u." 

Her cryptic comment sparked speculations among netizens and fans that the two have broken up.
