Glaiza de Castro urges followers to help raise funds for Baler surfer community
Glaiza de Castro has reached out to her followers to support fundraising campaigns for the surfer community in Baler.
The surfers and their families are among the many Filipinos whose livelihoods have been affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country.
In an Instagram post, Glaiza brought attention to the #1Wavefor100 initiative and efforts led by the Aurora Surf Riders Association Incorporated (ASRAI), which both aim to provide food packs for the surfers.
"Amongst others, these two fundraising campaigns are close to my heart. Let’s help these local surfers and their families get through this," the Kapuso actress said.
The “Encantadia” star, who holds surfing very dear to her heart, has been staying in Baler ahead of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
“Still waiting for that day when we can all go outside and not worry about this virus," Glaiza said. "Despite the challenging times, it’s encouraging to see people coming up with different awesome ideas." --Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
