Public transportation in Luzon was suspended as part of the government's efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), but many people still need to go out to work.
Healthcare workers, supermarket staff, bank tellers, and other essential personnel are exempted from travel restrictions. Others, like self-employed persons or daily wage earners, still risk going outside to earn a living.
"I understand many of us don't have the ability to stay home because of the need to go to work to provide for our families and put food on the table," Catriona said on Instagram.
"Many of our workers are still going out everyday to help in supplying food, services and especially, those who are tirelessly on the frontlines in all our medical centers and hospitals."
The beauty queen asked her followers to join her in praying for the workers, "along with praying for wisdom for our leaders, and praying for the quick progress of a vaccine and the health for all our nations."
