Dennis Trillo has three leading ladies in new drama series featuring Maranao Muslim royalty
Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo has three leading ladies in his primetime comeback on another breakthrough series from GMA Network.
In Aubrey Carampel's report for "24 Oras," Dennis will play a Muslim Maranao royalty who has three wives: Alice Dixson, Megan Young, and Bianca Umali.
Written by Suzette Doctolero and directed by Zig Dulay, the series has a working title of "Legal Wives."
"Siguro mga napanood natin na tungkol sa mga polygamy 'yung talagang bawal eh. Pero dito first time legal siya so ano kayang mangyayari dun sa samahan na 'yun di ba?" Dennis said.
Dixson, who plays Dennis' first wife, said she welcomes the concept of the series.
"It's through these kinds of stories na we get to learn about other people at hindi tayo nagiging sarado ang isip," she said.
Megan, meanwhile, plays the role of the second wife, who happens to be a Catholic.
"One of the main focal points of this show is to show people na just because you don't practice it, doesn't mean it's wrong," she said. "Kasi lahat tayo may mga practices, it could be our religion, with our culture."
Bianca, who played the role of a Badjao girl in "Sahaya," said she is having fun working on the drama.
"I like immersing myself to different cultures. And 'yun nga tulad ng Sahaya, eh ang dami ko rin po kasing natututunan," she said.
"Legal Wives" will also star Starstruck alumni Shayne Sava and Abdul Rahman. Other members of the cast include Bernard Palanca, Cherie Gil, Kevin Santos, and Al Tantay. —MGP, GMA News
