Winwyn Marquez signs up for Philippine Navy's basic citizen's military training
After finishing a Teacher Certificate Program last year, Winwyn Marquez is now on her way to conquer another goal — becoming a Philippine Navy reservist.
On Instagram Tuesday, the Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 titleholder announced she just joined this year's Basic Citizen's Military Training under the PN.
The actress and beauty queen shared a photo of her with Naval Reserve Command Chief Brigadier General Ariel Caculitan and fellow Kapuso actor and Petty Officer 3rd Class Rocco Nacino.
"People are asking me why I want to do this..I simply said because I want to..that's it. No need for long explanations," she wrote. "We don't need to justify what we want to do, we can just show them what we women CAN do."
Winwyn also thanked Rocco and Caculitan for "opening her eyes" in entering this new venture.
The Basic Citizen's Military is an entry level military training course undertaken by Filipino citizens wanting to enlist in the reserve force.
Last May 2019, Winwyn became one step closer to her dreams of becoming a teacher after finishing a Teacher Certificate Program from Southville International School.
In 2017, Winwyn became the first Filipina to win the Reina Hispanoamericana crown.
