The singer-actor finished his military training at Armor "Pambato" Division (AD) in the Philippine Army last February 14.
As a second lieutenant, Liang accepted the black beret from AD commander Major General Robert Dauz.
Apart from taking the Mechanized Infantry Operations Training (MIOT) to gain more knowledge about being a reservist, Ronnie also took courses on battle drills, armored vehicle defensive driving, and raid mission training.
He described his trainings as "a humbling experience."
"Four a.m. pa lang, gumigising na. Super strict sa time and kilos, dapat talagang mabilis ka," he said.
"From eating your food to taking a bath, sobrang ma-physical noong training. But at the end of the day, iisipin mo na malaki ang maitutulong noon sa character mo and pagmamahal sa bayan," he added.
Liang started volunteering for the Army in 2018. For him, being a reservist is a big role to play.
"I said na gusto kong maging parte [ng army] and siyempre to serve the country. To help the community lalo na sa panahon ng pangangailangan," he said.
He added the Marawi Siege in 2017 was his wake up call in becoming a reservist.
"'Yon ang nagpagising sa akin na talagang kailangan natin magtulungan as a nation."
