Mike Enriquez marks 25th year as Kapuso by renewing his contract with GMA Network

It's "Serbisyong Totoo" all the way for Mike Enriquez.

The GMA News pillar and multi-awarded news anchor and radio host Mike Enriquez marked his 25th year as a loyal Kapuso by renewing his contract with GMA Network on Thursday.

A loyal Kapuso since 1995, the veteran broadcast journalist said he already considers GMA as his home.

Present at the contract signing were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, and SVP for News and Public Affairs Marissa L. Flores.

Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications Jojo Aquio were also in attendance.

The one and only "Sumbungan ng Bayan," who was all smiles after the ceremony, also shared why inking a contract with GMA anew is always a joyous occasion for him.

Kaya masaya."

At present, Enriquez co-anchors GMA’s flagship primetime news program "24 Oras" and hosts the investigative public affairs program "Imbestigador."

He is also seen daily on GMA News TV’s "Dobol B Sa News TV." On radio, he banners Super Radyo DZBB’s "Saksi sa Dobol B" and "Super Balita sa Umaga Nationwide."

Citing Enriquez's unparalleled competence throughout the years, GMA's top management expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the broadcast news icon's continued loyalty to his home network and his work.

Gozon shared.

Duavit likewise emphasized Enriquez’ contribution to the Network.

“We do not see life without Mike and we are grateful and happy that he sees it the same way. Kaya’t pagkakataon din ito na pasalamatan siya sa patuloy na pagtitiwala, patuloy na pakikiisa, at patuloy pang pagpapatibay ng ating samahan,” he said.

Aside from his unrivaled expertise in news reporting and “Serbisyong Totoo”, Enriquez is known for his honest and straightforward commentaries on various socio-political issues.

He is the first Filipino to win the Best Newscaster Award in the Asian Television Awards. He has also been recognized as a “Media Icon” at the first-ever Media Icon Awards organized by the Media Specialists Association of the Philippines (MSAP) held last November 5. The award recognized Enriquez’ invaluable contribution to Philippine media that paved the way for more Filipinos to appreciate news.

At the same time, he is also a recipient of the Media Icon Award during the Gawad Filipino Awards 2019 by EUROTV Philippines. Last January 27, he was also named as the Most Outstanding Male News Anchor at the 3rd Gawad Lasallianeta organized by the De La Salle Araneta University. — LA, GMA News
