Willie Revillame tells the story behind Taal eruption video taken from a helicopter

Willie Revillame was training to fly a helicopter when the Taal Volcano erupted. 

At his contract signing with GMA Network on Monday, the Wowowin main man shared his close encounter and experience with GMA entertainment reporters.

"Ang nangyari doon kasi, nagte-training ako ng paglipad ng chopper so dumating ako doon mga 1:30, konti lang ang usok parang kaingin. So lumalakad-lakad ako kasi pinapaayos ko 'yong hotel doon," he narrated.

"Maya-maya sabi sa 'kin, 'Sir sumasabog 'yong Taal.' Nung nakita ko, medyo lumalaki na 'yong usok. Tapos dumating na 'yong chopper ko ulit, umikot na ako ng Batangas," he continued.

After taking the video, Kuya Wil's group immediately flew away from the volcano because the ashfall was already hitting their chopper and they saw flashes of lightning.

"Kaya kami umalis kasi 'yong ashfall tumatama na sa chopper, bumalik na kagad tsaka kumikidlat," he said. — LA, GMA News
