Dina Bonnevie reveals she asked to switch roles in 'Anak ni Waray vs Anak ni Biday'

Dina Bonnevie revealed that she asked to switch roles in upcoming Kapuso primetime drama "Anak ni Waray vs Anak ni Biday."

In a report by Cata Tibayan for "24 Oras," the veteran actress said she was originally cast as "Waray" and her co-star Snooky Serna was cast as "Biday."

"Nakiusap ako, sabi ko puwede bang ako si Biday? Kasi nga di ba my husband's Ilocano so I wanted to be the Ilocana girl," Dina said.  "'Yun nga lang maldita yung Ilocana eh pero okay lang role lang naman eh."

"Anak ni Waray vs Anak ni Biday" is a remake of the 1984 film of the same name. Waray and Biday, Dina and Snooky's characters, are mortal enemies who both fell in love with Joaquin, played by Jay Manalo.

Their daughters, Ginalyn and Caitlyn, are played by Barbie Forteza and Kate Valdez.

Dina said she is impressed by the two young stars' professionalism on set.

"Pinaka ayoko sa mga batang artista, 'yung darating sa set na naka-pajama pa. May mga ganun," she said. "Sila hindi naman. Parang when they come, makeup kaagad. Tapos pagdating sa floor, bago mag-take, memorize na 'yung lines."

"I like their countenance, 'yung talagang happy lang ang atmosphere, hindi nega," Dina added.
