Celebrities share photos of Taal Volcano eruption, ashfall
A photo shared by Dingdong Dantes captured just how humongous the plume of ash emitted by Taal Volcano was on Sunday.
In his IG post, the actor said the photo was taken in Indang, Cavite, about seven kilometers from Tagaytay Road.
The phreatic eruption that occurred Sunday morning was accompanied by sounds and tremors recorded in the area.
A photo shared by actress Jennica Garcia showed how the plume had reached the cloud line.
In the caption, the actress said she got the photo from her husband who was in Batangas at the time. Jennica also expressed her sympathies with affected residents and animals, and called for more assistance and prayers.
Many shared the distressing effects of the ashfall from the eruption, which has reached several areas surrounding Batangas, including Metro Manila.
Chito Miranda, for example, shared on IG that a mud-like substance coated his windshield while he was on the road.
"Grabe na ulan dito! Parang putik na may kasamang abo at pebbles!Ingat kayo lahat!" the singer said.

The ashfall has also reached Doug Kramer's home. "Praying for everyone's safety. Especially those in the south!" he said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) had raised an Alert Level 4 over the volcano by Sunday evening.
Several celebrities are sending their prayers as the eruption has prompted thousands of residents to flee.
Several flights and classes have also been canceled due to the ashfall.
"Hoping everyone stays safe during this time. Phivolcs has already raised Alert level 4 so please be sure to stay alert, aware, and updated," Heart Evangelista said in a post.
"Sending prayers to those who are affected by this unfortunate situation," she added.
