Solenn says she almost gave birth at just 5 months after complications

Solenn Heusaff is a new mom and her firstborn, Thylane Katana, just arrived on January 1.

On Solenn and her husband Nico Bolzico's Instagram posts, it may seem like the pregnancy has been all sorts of amazing.

But on the Kapuso actress' recent vlog post, Solenn revealed she had to go through a lot of complications, including almost giving birth at just her fifth month.

At first, Solenn said she was fine at the first four months of her pregnancy. She said she had the "easiest pregnancy ever" with no morning sickness, no cravings and no mood swings.

But when she reached five months, she found out that their baby was only in the 10th percentile.

"Meaning, it was a small baby, which got us a bit worried. It was still growing but it was still very small...That was the worst week and a half of my life," she said in the vlog.

"I remember Nico and I were crying everyday. We almost thought we would have to give birth at five months, which was obviously a very scary thing," she added.

Aside from that, Solenn said she was also prone to antiphospholipid syndrome, which is a disorder of the immune system.

According to the University of Rochester Medical Center's Health Encyclopedia, this syndrome happens when one's immune system fights against normal cells.

In this condition, one's body makes antibodies that attack phospholipids in cells. This condition causes many problems such as making one's blood clot too easily and often causes thrombosis, even miscarriage.

In the video, Solenn showed she got bruises around her belly and arms. She said she was prescribed with injections or blood fillers.

"I don't know why there were so many complications and I feel so good so I didn't get it.  I couldn't understand why this was happening to me," she said.

Solenn was grateful for her husband, Nico, who became her nurse and gave him the medications she needed.

"(He made) sure he would go to the office everyday just to inject me. This is also why I took leave from work because I decided to chill because I'm a girl who loves to be on-the-go and I love to work," she said.

With the help of the medication and her 3000-calorie diet, their baby went up to 30 percentile.

Solenn described the 3000-calorie diet as "crazy."

"(It's) crazy a lot like I usually eat 1200 calories a day without counting but that's how much I eat so 3000 would have to be like a bodybuilder," she said.

But her complications did not end there.

Solenn also had placental calcification, which is a gradual formation of indentions by calcium deposition within the placenta.  She also underwent intralipid infusion in case the baby needs to come out earlier.

However, Solenn was thankful she got nine friends who are also pregnant and are going through the same thing as her.

"It can be freaky but if you know that other people are going through the same thing as you then you're going to feel better about yourself and about everything," she said.

At the end of the video, Solenn became emotional and said "it's been a long, long journey and I'm so happy I'm finally at the end."

Snippets of her casual barbecue baby shower and her Vogue-inspired maternity photoshoot were also shown in the video.

Solenn also shared her baby's room, which had a green wallpaper and felt very homey.

Earlier, Solenn finally gave birth to her baby girl, Thylane Katana.

The couple spent New Year's Eve at the St. Luke's Medical Center waiting for Solenn to give birth.
